"Love and Labor: The Unbroken Law"
"The Burden of Life: The Broken Law"
The Carrara Mable Staircase, inspired by the Paris Opera House.
The Capitol Dome is modeled after St. Peter's in Rome. It is 272 feet from the ground and weighs 52 million pounds. The four circular medallions represent Art, Law, Religion and Science. The four semicircular paintings represent the areas major industries at the time of construction. Oil, Coal, and Steel, and William Penn's ships arriving in the New World.

The lettering of the Quotation that continues around the dome is actually glass mosaic tiles.

The quotation is not one single quote but several combined quotations from Pennsylvania's colonial founder William Penn. The quotations are as follows:
- "There may be room there for such a holy experiment."
- "For the nations want a precedent."
- "And my God will make it the seed of a nation."
- "That an example may be set up to the nations."
- "That we may do the thing that is truly wise and just."

The Dome was designed by Alfred Godwin, a Pennsylvania native
Divine Law, Painted by Violet Oakley....Look closely to find the words, "Love", "Law", and "Wisdom".
One of about 150 "Keystone Clocks"
Note the the glass is in the shape of a Keystone. One person is in charge of winding the clocks.

Floor Mosaic...There are close to 400 of these representing the history of Pennsylvania...This one is the seal if the city of Philadelphia 1701.

We were also allow inside the House and Senate Chambers. They were in session, but were taking a break and we were not allowed to take photos.
